General

How can I pay my rent?

  • Rent is due on the first of every month and can be paid in the office with a check or money order. If you prefer to pay with a credit or debit card, you can set up one-time or recurring payments through our Resident Portal.

Are you pet friendly?

  • Yes. Legacy Student Living is a pet-friendly community that welcomes cats and dogs with prior approval.
  • Apartments may have up to two pets, while residents leasing a single bedroom in a multi-bedroom apartment are limited to one pet.
  • There is no pet weight limit, but breed restrictions apply, so residents should review the current pet policy before bringing a pet to the community.

Do I need a lease guarantor?

  • ​We screen all our applicants and require a guarantor or additional security deposit on all leases. The security deposit varies by floor plan. You can ask a leasing specialist by calling our office today!

What if I do not have roommates in mind?

  • That's no problem at all! We can pair you up with people who have similar lifestyles, interests, etc. Just fill out the Roommate Matching form during the application process, and leave the rest to us!

Are utilities included?

  • High-speed internet is included. Other utilities are not included in rent and are billed directly to residents.

What is an individual lease?

  • When you sign an individual lease, you are only responsible for your rent; in other words, you have no liability for the rent of the other apartment residents. If your roommate transfers or graduates, you have no responsibility for their financial obligations. This is a significant advantage over the joint and several leases (where each resident is liable for the rent of all residents in the unit) which are often used at rental houses and other apartment properties in the area.

What is included in the furniture package?

  • We offer fully-furnished apartments. All you need to do is bring your stuff! Your room will be furnished with a queen-size bed, a dresser, nightstands, a desk, and a desk chair. We include a sofa, a chair, coffee and end tables in the living room as well as a 2-person breakfast bar with chairs. There is plenty of seating for you, your roommates, and your friends!

Is Renter's Insurance Required?

  • ​Yes, our community requires each resident to carry an active tenant liability policy for damage to the landlord’s property during the term of their lease. We require a minimum of $100,000 in general liability coverage. We also recommend residents purchase content coverage (also known as personal property insurance) to cover your personal belongings.

Is Legacy Student Living exclusively for Florida State University (FSU) students?

  • ​No. Legacy Student Living welcomes all qualified applicants, including students from Florida State University (FSU), Florida A&M University (FAMU), Tallahassee State College (TSC), and other nearby colleges and universities, as well as young professionals and families.

What colleges and universities are near Legacy Student Living?

  • ​Legacy Student Living is near several major Tallahassee colleges and universities, including Florida State University (FSU — 0.2 miles), Florida A&M University (FAMU — 2.1 miles), and Tallahassee State College (TSC — 2.5 miles).
  • Legacy is located directly on the FSU walking trail, making it especially convenient for FSU students, while FAMU and TSC are just a short drive away. Students attending FSU, FAMU, TSC, and other nearby colleges and universities are welcome to apply at Legacy Student Living.

Can FSU freshmen live off campus at Legacy Student Living?

  • ​Yes. Florida State University does not require first-year students to live on campus, so incoming freshmen can choose off-campus housing. Legacy Student Living is a privately operated off-campus community located at 415 Chapel Drive with direct access to the FSU walking trail.
 

Is Legacy Student Living affiliated with Florida State University?

  • ​No. Legacy Student Living is privately operated off-campus housing and is not part of Florida State University Housing. The community is managed by CREI Management, LLC, and residents lease directly with Legacy Student Living rather than through FSU University Housing. 
 

Is Legacy Student Living the same community as Legacy Suites?

  • ​Yes. Legacy Student Living is the current name of the apartment community at 415 Chapel Drive in Tallahassee that was previously listed as Legacy Suites. Older online records and listings may still refer to the property by its former name.
 

Does Legacy Student Living offer resident parking?

  • Legacy Student Living offers on-site resident parking, including a large, multi-level garage with convenient sky-bridge access to the community. 
  • Unassigned surface parking is currently listed at $50 per month per vehicle.
  • Because parking rates, space assignments, and availability can change, residents should contact the Legacy Student Living leasing office at (850) 692-2567 to confirm current parking options and pricing.
 

How do I submit a maintenance request at Legacy Student Living?

  • Legacy Student Living also offers 24-hour emergency maintenance for urgent maintenance needs.
  • ​Residents can submit maintenance requests online through the Legacy Student Living Resident Portal, which provides 24/7 access to maintenance-request services.

Can I sublease my apartment at Legacy Student Living?

  • ​Residents who need to leave before their lease term ends should contact the Legacy Student Living leasing office at (850) 692-2567 before making arrangements with another resident. Any sublease, lease takeover, or transfer must comply with the terms of the resident's lease and any required management approval.
 

What happens if I need to break my lease at Legacy Student Living?

  • ​Early-termination requirements are governed by the individual Legacy Student Living lease agreement. What should I bring when moving into a furnished apartment at Legacy Student Living?

  • ​Residents choosing a furnished apartment do not need to bring their own basic bedroom, living room, or dining furniture.
  • Residents should plan to bring personal belongings and everyday household items such as bedding and linens, towels, cookware and dishes, toiletries, cleaning supplies, and other personal necessities.
